Massage fulfills the universal need for touch.  Bodywork therapies reduce stress by calming the nervous system; help strengthen the immune system; decrease pain and muscle soreness; treat chronic conditions; and promote a sense of well-being.  Feel better now.  Go ahead, breathe and RELAX.

The Hindu greeting "Namaste" (rhymes with "Mama's day") translates as, “I honor the Spirit in you which is also in me” or “I honor that which is sacred.”  That is the core philosophy at Robert Covington Massage Therapy—to honor and respect all of our clients. All massages are nondiscriminatory and are provided in a safe, nonsexual environment.

The following services are available by appointment at our welcoming retreat or the location of your choosing:

Swedish/Relaxation Massage:  A therapeutic massage designed to promote relaxation, improve circulation, relieve muscle tension and reduce stress.  This type of bodywork can be experienced in a lighter or stronger style depending on individual preference.

Deep Tissue Massage:  Combination of Swedish and special techniques to affect the deeper layer of muscle.  Relieves chronic pain and soreness and releases tension and pain associated with stress.

Sports Massage:  A form of bodywork geared toward participants in athletics.  Utilizes specific massage techniques to prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in optimal condition and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries.

Neuromuscular Therapy: Uses finger pressure on “trigger points” (painful, irritated areas in the muscle) in order to break the cycle of spasm or pain.

Lymphatic Drainage:  Uses light-pressure movements directed towards the heart and lymphatic ducts; directs lymph flow throughout the body.
It is sometimes used for edema (swelling).

Hot Stone Therapy: Uses heated stones (not hot enough to burn) to provide continuous heat therapy, relieving tension, muscle soreness and stress. The heat also increases relaxation of muscle tissues, preparing an area for deeper types of massage.
